How Are Eye Allergies Diagnosed?
If you think you are experiencing symptoms of eye allergies, you may want to try over-the-counter medications or schedule an appointment with a doctor or eye care professional.
If allergy symptoms persist and you’re not getting symptom relief from over-the-counter or prescription medications, your doctor may perform allergy testing after examining your eyes and diagnosing you with eye allergies. These tests can help reveal what triggers are causing your allergy symptoms. Your doctor can use the results of testing to help you develop a plan to manage symptoms. He or she may refer to to an allergist/immunologist or ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialist depending on the severity of your allergies.1,2
